Annealing softens the steel to about HB 269. This step helps relieve internal stress and improves machinability before hardening.
The steel is heated to around 1090°C and then rapidly cooled. This process increases hardness and enhances wear resistance.
Temper at 460–510°C to reduce residual stress and optimize the balance between hardness and toughness. Final hardness reaches 58–60 HRC.
