Preheat to 650–700°C to improve heating uniformity before quenching.
Heat to 1020–1050°C, then oil quench or air cool to achieve high hardness and good overall performance.
Temper at 180–220°C for 1–2 cycles, 1–2 hours each, to obtain a balanced combination of hardness and toughness.
