Annealing

Softens DF62 / W6Mo2Cr4V2Co steel (HB ~255), reduces internal stresses, and enhances machinability before hardening, making the material easier to process.

Quenching

Heat to 1150–1200°C, followed by rapid cooling to achieve high hardness and wear resistance. This process locks in the steel's high-performance characteristics.

Tempering

Post-quenching tempering at approximately 550°C balances hardness and toughness while relieving residual stresses, resulting in a final hardness of 63–66 HRC.
