Annealing

Softens W2Mo8Cr4V2Co3 (M7 Modify) steel (HB ~269), reduces internal stresses, and improves machinability before hardening, making the material easier to process.

Quenching

Heat to 1180–1210 °C, followed by rapid cooling to achieve high hardness and wear resistance. This process locks in the steel's high-performance characteristics.

Tempering

Post-quenching tempering at approximately 550 °C balances hardness and toughness while relieving residual stresses, resulting in a final hardness of 64–67 HRC.
