High Speed Steel T4 (ASTM A600) is a tungsten molybdenum alloy high speed steel, with good wear resistance, high temperature resistance, suitable for the manufacture of all kinds of precision cutting tools. It sculpted drill, milling cutter, thread cutting tool, rolls and other high-strength, high-load tool etc. T4 has good thermal stability and high hardness, thus it can maintain excellent processing performance at high temperatures.

Best combination of hardness, toughness, wear resistance conditions in T4 HSS is achieved by a multi-part heat treatment process. Heat treatment process includes:
Hardening:
The T4 steel is tempered by heating to 1260-1290°C followed by oil quenching, air quenching, or bath quenching at 550°C, and exhibits hardness of 63-66 HRC, which is quite hard and can be utilized for high speed cutting and tooling.
Annealing:
T4 should be annealed after hot working. The steel is raised to 860 °C (maximum heating rate of 220 °C/hour) and soaked at this temperature followed by air cooling slowly in the furnace. Its annealed hardness is under HB255, which is much easier to machine and form.
Tempering:
T4 steel was tempered at 560–580°C for two cycles (minimum of 2 h each) after hardening. As it’s a little harden at that point, reducing it relatively between 64-65 HRC results in a good tough and wear resistancy well as its cutting ability.
The principal characteristics of T4 High-Speed Steel in the treated condition are as follows:
Outstanding Hardness:
After hardening, reaches 63-66 HRC hardness, with good high-speed conditioning cutting performance.
Superior Wear Resistance:
The high tungsten content greatly increases its wear resistance and prolongs tool life, even in the most extreme environments.
Increased Red Hardness:
T4 retains its cutting power and efficacy at high temperature, allowing for speed cutting and machining in hot areas.
Good Toughness:
T4 is still a high toughness state, which prevents the tool from breaking and enables it to withstand machining in high-pressure conditions.
Premium Good Quality, Cheap Price:
We have a T4 High-Speed Steel that performs phenomenally for the value. You can now enjoy the same state of the art performance without paying the premium price, as it is on par or better than the best brands in Japan, Europe, and the USA.
Proficient Production Methods:
Using advanced metallurgical processes such as the EAF + LF + VD + RS ESR in T4 steel ensures consistent microstructure and refined carbide distribution, leading to better performance.
Precision Heat Treatment:
T4 High-Speed Steel has a well-balanced heat treatment process under optimized conditions of fabrication to ensure red hardness, wear resistance, and toughness in its high-speed cutting applications.
