M7 (high-performance high-speed steel alloy for high-speed machining tool steel material) is an improvement of M2 and is recommended for use in high-speed applications. M7 is also recognized for its well-balanced blend of hardness, wear and high-temperature resistance, making it perfect for guides and dies used in high-pressure environments and in cutting tools, drills and industrial knives.
We have advanced M7 high-speed steel that works superbly at extreme heat and stress; it offers better resistance to thermal fatigue and wear. It is commonly used in industries that demand precision and durability, such as aerospace, automotive, and tooling industries.

Soft Annealing:
After heating the steel to 820–880°C, the steel is gradually cooled in the furnace. This process gives the steel the needed softness, making it easier to machine. After annealing, the steel reaches a Brinell hardness of 230-280 HB.
Hardening:
It is preheated between 450-600°C and heated to 850°C, then at 1050°C the steel heated for hardening to a temperature range of 1180-1220°, then quenched in oil, air, or in warm water at 550°C when tempering to reach a hardness of 64-66 HRC.
Tempering:
The steel tempering is performed 3 times at 540-560°C for an hour each. The hardness remains above 64 HRC after tempering.
Forging:
Hot Working Hot forming temperate that are typically used for steel parts should be between 1100-900°C.
Well Hardened: M7 steel can be hardened and tempered to a high rockwell hardness of 64~66 HRC which allows for great wear resistance.
Enhanced Toughness: After tempering, the steel maintains its good toughness and crack resistance despite high hardness.
Good Machinability: In the soft annealed condition M7 is easy to machine prior to any final heat treatments.
Exceptional Value for Money
Equal Quality, Cheaper Pricing:
In addition, Our M7 high-speed steel keep the same premium performance level of top brand of the world, with a much competitive price. Employing advanced smelting techniques and stringent quality control, this is a fantastic balance of high performance & affordability – a cost-effective necessity for your application.
Cutting-edge manufacturing machinery
Innovative Smelting Process:
M7 steel is produced using advanced EAF + LF + VD + RS ESR process, and the carbides are uniformly distributed, and the microstructure is uniform. This construction provides improved toughness, high wear resistance, and durability, making it well suited for high-stress and high-temperature applications.
Precision Heat Treatment:
Nevertheless, in addition to M7 steel, the unique heat treatment processes not only increase the hardness and toughness of the material but also greatly improve the performance of M7 steel with respect to extreme applications. It undergoes an advanced heat treatment which gives it excellent mechanical properties, specifically impact and wear resistance.
Reliable Product Quality
Consistent Integrity Of Material:
We manage the whole physical manufacturing process, from the raw material sourcing stage to the final manufacturing stage. This all-inclusive method ensures that quality and performance remain consistent from batch to batch.
International Standard Compliant:
M7 high-speed steel conforms to domestic and international quality standards: ASTM 600, AISI M7, JIS SKH58, and DIN 1.3348. This ensures that our goods listen the greatest universal requirements and comforts our clients.
Research and development are ongoing:
Thanks to the support by the National Ministry of Science and Technology “13th Five-Year Plan”, our company is now capable of continual innovation and technical development. This enables us to remain at the cutting edge of steel technology and provide our customers with the most up-to-date, high-performance materials.
Unique Technology:
Developed a proprietary Rapid Solidification Electro-Slag Remelting (RS ESR) process together with Shanghai University, China and Beijing Iron & Steel Research Institute, China. This makes M7 steel with high purity and better distribution of carbide, which improves the overall performance.
Advanced Spray Forming Process:
Working with Baosteel Group as our unique partner, we have developed a spray forming process for M7 high-speed steel. This proprietary process, which is exclusive to our factory in China, improves the mechanical properties of steel and makes it suitable for unique, specialist, high-performance applications.
M7: Very high wear resistance, high toughness and excellent edge stability. It is widely used in industrial applications:
Cutting Tools: Low-cost and high-precision for gear cutting tools, drill, milling cutters, taps & dies with long tool life.
Thread cutting and forming: Used for thread cutting drills and cold forming tools for durability and edge toughness.
Punch and Die: Good punching tools and die, wear resistance, high strength, high impact.
The Properties of the welding tool: Tool repair – repair of punch faces with preheated molding tools with high wear resistance.
M7 excels in high-speed machining of semi-hard and heat-treated steels, also making it the preferred auger for severe applications.
Our M7 high speed steel raw materials as per your requirement, and also cut and shape into desired shapes such as high speed steel drill, tap, punches, thread cutting tools, milling cutter as per your specifications.
Delivery timescale will depend on your order size and complexity. Raw material orders are usually execute and shipped in 30-40 days. Delivery time for tailored tools and semi-finished products will be defined according to individual processing needs.
We do heat treat the m7 steel so that it meets the required hardness, toughness, and wear resistance specifications. We offer heat treatments: hardening, tempering, soft annealing etc.
M7 steel is available in various forms like round bar, sheets, flat bars, and customized shapes. Depending on your particular needs, we may also be able to finished gear up with the metal or semi-finished parts.
